Key features:

  • Made of 0.0.2419 t troy oz. .90 fine gold
  • Face value of $5 backed by the US Mint
  • Designed by Christian Gobrecht
  • Condition is rated as MS63 by the PCGS

Designed by Christian Gobrecht, this version of Lady Liberty is a neoclassical rendition. She was inspired by the Greco-Roman artists and is shown in profile with thick curls. She is wearing a thick crown. Framing her face are thirteen stars symbolizing the thirteen colonies. At the bottom of the coin is the year the coin was issued. The year of coin you get is dependent on the stock on hand.

The reverse side of this coin has  Gobrecht’s version of the heraldic eagle which has the national bid with a shield. Underneath the eagle, it is clutching an olive branch and a bunch of arrows. Around the eagle is ‘UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’ and at the bottom is ‘FIVE D.” Coins made after 1866 also have a banner above the eagle that says ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’. The date of the coin you receive will depend on stock on hand so may not have this banner.
