Classic Buffalo Designs
Obverse: The designs featured on this modern bullion coin were originally used on a classic U.S. coin, the Buffalo nickel. The obverse and reverse were both designed by James Earle Fraser. The obverse of this coin shows Fraser’s portrait of a Native American along with the date and “W” mint mark.
Reverse: This side of the coin shows a buffalo. The buffalo displays a high level of detail, it is depicted from the side. The face value and gold content are inscribed below the buffalo’s hooves.
